In March Meaghan and I had the chance to visit Austin and San Antonio for a few days. Her aunt and uncle live in San Antonio at Randolph Air Force base. Her uncle is a two star general - so we were lucky enough to get amazing accommodations while we stayed. With Austin only an hour away, we used that opportunity to make frequent visits to look for houses. For whatever reason, Meaghan and I had been looking to move to Austin for the past year. It seemed like an idyllic place and so we set out to convince ourselves that it was the perfect spot to move.
During our stay we visited the Alamo and the San Antonio river walk. As a note, the first image in this series at the Alamo is a completely photoshoped image (only for fun - I don't normally do this to my images). That view looks out onto row after row of hotels and restaurants. If you're interested, take a look at how the Alamo actually looks. The river walk was really pleasant - we had the best guacamole of our lives and utilize that same recipe to this day. I was enamored with the architecture and building materials as well as the landscape and wildlife. I remember waking up to the sound of the morning revelry and hearing grackles for the first time - felt like I was in a surrealists nightmare.
